Barbara Lowrie Refuge

It is located at the head of the Comba dei Carbonieri, confluent valley of Val Pellice. La Comba, that is a narrow and deep valley, accompanies the tourist through the chestnut and beech woods, the colors of the sorbs and laburnums up to a plateau where, among pastures and rhododendrons, we find the Refuge. Born as a private hunting lodge, it was donated in 1931 to the CAI UGET VALPELLICE Section by the spouses Barbara and Walter Lowrie.

Accessible by car, it is an ideal destination for families, as well as a starting point for more or less demanding trips. Always an obligatory stop for daredevil cyclists, today it is also a famous place for bouldering.
